'The only place you will get food is at Jalan Bukit Bintang or from room service. All other restaurants are closed,' Fredrick, the concierge at Grand Hyatt KL looked very sad.
'How do we get there?'
'By taxi, one hour. By walk 10 minutes.'
Walk we did, simply following concierge Fredrick's clear instructions, repeating them (to remind our flight fuzzed, sleep deprived brain) on that empty road.

'He said not to take a cab,' I said, after a bit, not even trying to sound logical. 'But this road doesn't have any traffic.'
'Amta,' the hubster admonished. 'He was talking of Jalan Bukit Bintang, which is left from the signal.' That signal showed no signs of showing up.
Something made me look up at the sky. Those Twin Towers again. But, below them, a halo of yellow brightness clearly showed the night was still young.

The moment we turned, our eyes widened. Life exploded on that road. It seemed like people from all over the world were represented there. Heck, it was Friday night all night, till 3 am.

At the hotel, I had said ‘local food,’ quite firmly.
My hungry brain changed it to ‘any food. Some beer would be good too.’

After some quick deliberation, an honest hunt for either local or Indian Vegetarian food (to keep the man in my life happy) it was time to make peace and plunge into the next ‘coolest’ restaurant we saw. All three of us liked the look of the menu and walked right in, choosing a table by the road.

Settling to Healy Mac’s Irish Bar and Restaurant, it was time for some cold Tiger Beer, and a new holiday tradition. Food was vegetarian – a Four Cheese pizza and Spring Rolls (local flavours, maybe). Turned out the pizza was large, crisp and delicious. I loved teh salty chunks of feta cheese. Those Spring Rolls were really good. And that is not because we were hungry. Each of the rolls was evenly stuffed with shredded vegetables that had retained their crispness even though they were deep fried. The shell, crisp and crumbly did a good job of supporting the stuffing. Dipping it in the sweet chilli sauce was a good idea. And that beer, sigh. Delicious.
Dessert: Brownies with hot chocolate sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream (no pic, unfortunately).
We now had enough energy to trek back to the hotel. Even pose for pics along the way.
